shocker 135 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Hello, I have a quick question as I've not been able to find a quick answer searching the forums. Some users with old Samsung TV's E/F series needs to add the ip/port user/password in order to connect but seems that the emby premiere login is not working. By linking the emby premiere account to my users is not matching the password? Seems that my local users don't have any password defined by default, do I need to enter a password for all my users manually? Thanks!
Luke 42080 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Which Samsung app? You mean the community app? To my knowledge it does not support Emby Connect login.
shocker 135 Posted February 10, 2018 Author Posted February 10, 2018 Yes, the community app. The question is not regarding the app, it's more the add user logic. So when I'm adding a new user I need to set a password for him or if I'm linking the emby connect account to the user the password field is obsolete?

If you use the guest function it's all Emby Connect. If you use the linking function then they can login either way, with or without Emby Connect, so you might want a password there.
shocker 135 Posted February 10, 2018 Author Posted February 10, 2018 Thanks Luke! In case that I’ll use guests the they will be able to connect with old Samsung E/F community app? Or the password is not transferred to the server and it will fail as the app don’t support emby connect?
Luke 42080 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 I'm not sure sorry. I don't know how far behind that is with our api. You'll probably just have to try it.
