Jack Burton 98 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 This is driving me nuts. I've meticulously gone through all my music and have everything set up perfectly, except for one album. I just got the new Black Panther album and I'm having issues getting it into Emby properly. Musicbrainz has it listed as a release group, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, SZA, but I wasn't sure how to put it into my library. I have all album artists set up individually, and I didn't want an album artist to be multiple artists, so I put the album into my Various Artists folder. Emby scraped the album and created an album artist for Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, SZA, which I don't want. I tried changing the artist in the album info to Various Artists, and it created a new Various Artists group under Album Artists, it didn't add the album to the existing Various Artists. I changed something else, though I can't remember what, and now the new Various Artists grouping is gone, but the album is not in the original Various Artists, and is nowhere to be found except through individual artists (like The Weeknd). Now I just want to put it back to what it originally was but I can't, it's stuck as some invisible Various Artists thing. I've tried removing the album from the library, re-scanning, putting the album back, re-scanning (put it back and re-scanned as Various Artists, Kendrick Lamar, all 3 artists, etc) and I can't get it back to its original state.

Jack Burton 98 Posted February 11, 2018 Author Posted February 11, 2018 Sorry, should have elaborated. I tried to identify using the Musicbrainz ID, which is what I always use to identify. Nothing changed. I then figured I'd give it a go by identifying by title. Got 2 options, one by Kendrick Lamar, and one by Various Artists. I selected the Various Artists since that's the folder the album is currently in. No change. It still says it's by Various Artists, but doesn't show up in Various Artists. Also, no artwork gets downloaded, never has. I retried using the Kendrick Lamar one and it still says Various Artists.

Still no artwork, still doesn't show up under Various Artists, but thanx for the effort. Worst thing is I've been throwing a lot of time at this and the album isn't even all that good

I figured I'd have to manually add the art, but still nothing in various artists. I have 4 other albums in it and no "more" option

Each time I've tried a new ID I've removed it, rescan, rechecked, and it's just not showing up in Various Artists. Tracks were added using Picard, though maybe I'll go back and look at the metadata Picard picked up, didn't think of that Edit: That did it, thanx! Picard had it pulled as all 3 artists, and I kept trying to sort it as Various Artists. Changed the name in Picard, and everything's good, including artwork Edited February 12, 2018 by Jack Burton
