pwhodges 2012 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 (edited) I can successfully cast live TV (though without subs) and AVC (h.264) files (with or without subs). However, if I attempt to cast an HEVC (h.265) file, there is a pause and then Emby returns to the file selection screen. This happens with both Chromecast 2 and Chromecast Ultra. I have tried fiddling with various settings, but haven't found any that appears to bear on the matter. All my other devices (PC, iOS, Android) work fine with HEVC (whether direct or transcoded). I am running the Windows server, 3.2.70.11beta. Any suggestions? Edited February 10, 2018 by pwhodges
Luke 42083 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Can you please discuss an example and attach the information requested in how to report a problem? thanks.
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 11, 2018 Author Posted February 11, 2018 Sure - I just thought I'd ask first in case I'd missed something really obvious...
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 11, 2018 Author Posted February 11, 2018 (edited) Well huh. I went to try it today and get logs, and it simply worked. None of the scenarios I tried showed the behaviour they had before. It's not as it should be, because it's clearly transcoding, and I thought the Chromecast Ultra could handle HEVC - or is it still a matter of what the TV it's attached to can do (that certainly can't handle HEVC). But I'll fiddle around with that for a bit (unless someone has a ready answer in this case). Edited February 11, 2018 by pwhodges
