Chromecast and HEVC (h.265)

I can successfully cast live TV (though without subs) and AVC (h.264) files (with or without subs).  However, if I attempt to cast an HEVC (h.265) file, there is a pause and then Emby returns to the file selection screen.  This happens with both Chromecast 2 and Chromecast Ultra.  I have tried fiddling with various settings, but haven't found any that appears to bear on the matter.  All my other devices (PC, iOS, Android) work fine with HEVC (whether direct or transcoded).  I am running the Windows server, 3.2.70.11beta.

Any suggestions?

Sure - I just thought I'd ask first in case I'd missed something really obvious...

Well huh.  I went to try it today and get logs, and it simply worked.  None of the scenarios I tried showed the behaviour they had before.

It's not as it should be, because it's clearly transcoding, and I thought the Chromecast Ultra could handle HEVC - or is it still a matter of what the TV it's attached to can do (that certainly can't handle HEVC).  But I'll fiddle around with that for a bit (unless someone has a ready answer in this case).
