SwanStream 64 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 New behavior since moving from PC to synology box for the server. I've noticed the auto organize process, when moving a files from one directory to another on the same volume its 'slow' as if it's copying the data rather than just 'moving' the location. I've verified transfer method it's set to move, not copy. Seems this operation is maybe calling a copy/verify rather than move as handled by File Station.... i.e. it should just be a fast table edit. Is there something I've configured incorrectly for it to handle it with a native move? I'm a Unix-diot, so if I'm not making sense, thats why!
Luke 42077 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 If you're using the smb:// protocol for our libraries then it might be slow, since we are handling it as a copy. Otherwise I'm not really sure. Check your auto-organize settings and see how the Transfer method setting is configured.
SwanStream 64 Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 transfer method triple checked setting is set to move. In TV library I've got "/volume1/tv_1" which is the shared folder, but for path substitution I'm using the "\\Server\tv_1" which I assume to be the SMB equiv. even without the smb: prefix..?
b0mb 36 Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 with the old mono builds this problem didn´t appear and the files have beeen moved ^^
Luke 42077 Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 Over the server updates to .net core 3.0 in the near future let's reevaluate. Thanks.
