GhostRider 49 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 (edited) Hi I have a couple of related questions when you have multiple versions of a movie. 1) Noir version E.g. Logan is following a trend to have color and a separate black and white version of a film. Would only want one folder for Logan and then select either color or noir version. Is this possible in Emby? 2) 4K version stub Can you have a folder with both a stub file to an offline physical 4K disc and also a HD version on the hard drive? Many thanks Edited February 9, 2018 by GhostRider
Luke 42085 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 For #1 you can name the versions however you like, just make sure to follow our guidelines: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Movie%20naming For #2 in theory but this hasn't been tested. I would give it a shot and see how it goes. thanks.
GhostRider 49 Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 Just tried #2 with a stub file. Folder contains movie name (yyyy).mkv and movie name (yyyy).UHD.disc Things go very odd, after a scan I get two movie posters and every extra appear for the film on the home page. Delete movie name (yyyy).UHD.disc, rescan and I just get one movie poster as expected.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Multi-version movies Multiple versions of the same content can be stored in a single movie folder. /Movies /300 /300 - 1080p.mkv /300 - 720p.mp4 /300 - extended edition.mp4 /300 - directors cut.mp4 /300 - 3D.hsbs.mp4 /300 [720p].mp4 Each version must begin with the folder name, followed by " - " or brackets " [720p] ". If this requirement is not met, they will be treated as separate videos. The text following the dash can be anything you want and will be what you see when Emby apps give you the option to select a specific version.
GhostRider 49 Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 The help file is not clear as you cannot use / in the filename. Do I need to call my file movie name (yyyy) - 1080p.mkv and the stub file movie name (yyyy).UHD.disc? This gives the same result - all my extras appear and two posters
Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 (edited) Haven't tested but why not bracket? movie name (yyyy) - 1080p.mkv movie name (yyyy) [uHD].disc **Guess only drawback maybe Media flags. But I would think that doesn't matter as they should appear as one. Edited February 9, 2018 by Happy2Play
GhostRider 49 Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 (edited) Tried this naming methodology: movie name (yyyy) - 1080p.mkv movie name (yyyy) - UHD.disc I now see a version drop down menu, however selecting any version always asks to insert the disc , i.e. it does not the movie name (yyyy) - 1080p.mkv file. GhostRider 49 Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 Tried this naming methodology: movie name (yyyy) - 1080p.mkv movie name (yyyy) [uHD].disc I now see a version drop down menu, and it plays the mkv file for both versions i.e. the stub plays the .mkv file All a little odd.
Luke 42085 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Yea this hasn't been tested by us in regards to mixing with stubs so there are probably some things that need to be worked out.
