TimFromFL 5 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 To take care of potential show over runs, sometimes I schedule the following show with often times is the local news. I am trying to figure out how to properly name the show. Looking at the local news in the guide I see correct images as shown in the image below this tells me that it has some source for the correct metadata. Since I record in WMC via ServerWMC, I have to rename the files appropriately so they are correctly identified. What is the standard for this type of show? looking at the Wiki I see that the following examples might apply By dateCommon for long-running daily shows, you can also use the date the episode aired. anything_1996.11.14.ext anything_1996-11-14.ext anything_14.11.1996.ext but normally for shows I have used the following structure to reduce incorrect matches \TV \The Flash (2014) \Season 3 \The Flash S03E01.wtv parts of this structure falls apart for local news. No start year, no season. Any suggestions?
Luke 42089 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I don't think there's going to be any internet metadata for this, and in fact, in order to prevent matching to the wrong thing, you'll probably need to lock the series folder anyway, or disable internet metadata for that entire library. Once you've done that, you can pretty much name however you like because there won't be any concern over matching.

I assumed that it was because of backend metadata.
Luke 42089 Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 If you're referring to your first screenshot, that is from the guide data, but that only helps us with the guide display and recording process. Once it becomes a video in your library, then it uses the regular metadata providers just like any other tv series.
