Hi

i have  a feature-request  would it be possible to have like the library's where you can set for each user witch library's they can access,  but with the live TV, you see i have tv channels for different countries like France UK Spain so i load in different M3u files at the moment i have seven m3u files for the live tv it would be useful if i could select  witch use can access what m3u file/list, a French person  may just want French channels  someone else may not want any sports channels

thank you

You can actually do that now using parental controls but we will make it easier.

Parental controls will only block depending of group age right?

What I'm looking for its a way to

allow ABC for user1 and NBC for user2

block NBC for user1 and ABC for user2

You can do that.  Look at the option to block based on tags.

Wonderfull

is it possible to put the tags in the m3u?

This way when i load the file the tag will load with the file

That's not possible right now, but could be a good idea for the future.

something like this :)

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="10" tvg-name="ABC" tvg-logo="ABC.png" tvg-tag="tag1,tag2,tag3" group-title="Entertainments",ABC

I just finish to use the TAG features and it work great :)

only issue the search seem to bypass the tag restriction on the web page.

Example

ABC tag "user1"

NBC tag "user2"

so i go to user1 and put the block tag "user2" and do user2 and put block tag "user1"

When i click on Guide and Channels everything its working fine :) but if i do a search i can actually ABC and NBC if the a program match and play it even if i'm suppose to be block :(

any idea?

Ah, yes, I guess that would be a hole as, when you search, you are searching programs not channels and the programs are not blocked.  We may have to employ some sort of inheritance scheme on the programs like we do for TV Series.

maybe we could block the search tv program until the hole is patched ;) or have the option to block the search of tv program

I just lost my tag :( must be when the channels reload...

just wondering where is the path location of the livetv metadata tags.

I want to make a script that will put the tags and sort title automatically.

Thanks.

I am looking forward to this. With these storms lately i have lost power for an extended period of time a few times now. The hdhr seems to forget everything when it looses power for a while. With all my client devices being able to direct play or direct stream i eliminate all the standard definition duplicates of channels. I have had to do this 3 times this month. Having channel groupings in emby would save me that headache I think.

Yes This request has been "Out There" for a year or so...Any Progress? My IPTV account has logins for each and I can't just allow anyone to access all the channels otherwise it terminates the Stream....

Bedroom.m3u tag-id "Bedroom"

Livingroom.m3u tag-id "Livingroom"

Please don't suggest add Tag with Metadata Manager...4000+ channels :(

So far the only thing that could work is installing multiples instance of emby server on the same computer matching the iptv service.

Agreed...SandBoxed....

EDIT: With Emby, there is no need to SandBox, Just create 2 different Server folders and edit the Ports accordingly...Very Nice!
