Change Padding on Individual Recordings - Series

Not sure if this is a bug or should be a feature request.....

When I noticed that a show (that I have set to record as a series) wasn't going to start on time due to a live event going over, I tried to adjust the end padding but found that for individual episodes set up as series recordings did not allow you to adjust the padding.  Individual recordings (no series) could be adjusted after they were scheduled.

What happened when you tried to adjust them?

Nothing - I clicked settings that brought up the padding window but when I changed the value it reverted to the default for the series recording.

How are you doing this? i just tested this and it seemed to save the values OK.

OK - so I tested this again and it looks like I completely mis-diagnosed the problem.  It has nothing to do with series recordings - the problem is that you cannot alter padding after you start recording........duh.

What happened to me yesterday was that I was trying to alter the settings for a recording that was already in progress.  When it wouldn't work - I stopped the recording and then tried to re-record it.  I went to 'Programs' and clicked on the program I wanted to record.  In its option settings I clicked 'Record' and then tried to change the padding.

I see the problem now - there is no way to change the total recorded time after the recording is set.  Maybe when setting the recording there is a prompt to define padding prior to executing the recording?  I don't know.....

If I was thinking more clearly (on Super Bowl Sunday......right) I would have just temporarily changed the default padding in the DVR settings before I tried to manually start the recording.

Sorry for wasting brain power on this.....

That's something we haven't implemented yet but yes it would be a good idea, thanks.
