ShoutingMan 101 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I read somewhere that Dolby Atmos tracks from UHD 4K muxed to MKV can be stuttery or somehow play badly. But I don't remember where that discussion was, and google isn't helping. Can anyone help point me in the right direction on this? I'm hope to start experimenting with UHD-related playback and want to find relevant discussions on the technical issues. Thanks
Guest asrequested Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 The video or audio only is stuttering? I haven't heatd/read/seen anything related to this.
Guest asrequested Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I just found this thread from a few years ago. https://www.mede8erforum.com/index.php/topic,17280.0.html?PHPSESSID=2mcgti5hmjhbmsc5pmf5hid2i2
CBers 7450 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I have multiple 4K MKV videos with Atmos audio and they play fine in both the ATV app and the LG ET app. 1
ShoutingMan 101 Posted February 4, 2018 Author Posted February 4, 2018 The video or audio only is stuttering? I haven't heatd/read/seen anything related to this.I think it was audio problems. I think it had to do with muxing the video into MKV. I might be confusing things; possibly it had to do instead with Dolby Vision? Gack. Sorry. I’ve been skimming a bunch of discussions the past two months and I didn’t bookmark anything. But I was reading a thread, maybe in the MakeMKV forum, about some problems playing back MKVs generates from UHD content. .

Guest asrequested Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Interesting. I've never had an issue. I'm going to grab that file, and test it.
Guest asrequested Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Well, I can't download it. You have to subscribe. But I watched a UHD HDR Atmos movie, last night. It played, perfectly. 1
ShoutingMan 101 Posted February 4, 2018 Author Posted February 4, 2018 I've now got Deadpool HD with the Atmos track from the UHD disc muxed into it. I'll give it a watch ASAP to see what happens.
