I dont know why but my server is slow. Sometimes it doesn't load at all. Other times it just takes an age.

I attatched the logs below

Hi, there's no example of anything slow in this log. Try removing the auto boxset and messenger plugins.

Just done that now. Are they known to cause slowdowns?

I'll see how it goes for an hour or so.

That didn't help.

Still hanging/loading slow/not at all.

What is? Can you please discuss a specific example? Thanks.

Just generally loading emby.media and loading my dashboard. I get a spinning circle sometimes for 5-10minutes before it loads, other times it doesn't ever load and I'm forced to restart the server to force it to load.

If you are trying to access them through a browser, make sure to disable browser addons such as adblock.

I used to have the same problem.

Emby Dashboard in the browser used to load ok sometimes, but often loaded extremely slow, just showing the dashboard background without content and the colored spinning circle. But after reloading the page with "F5" the content loaded quite fast. I got this behavior in multiple browsers and operating systems.

But since the latest server-update to 3.2.70.0 the dashboard loads very nice and fast in all browsers and apps.

In your log it states application version 3.2.70.5. Maybe try with 3.2.70.0 and see if the issue remains.

I am of course not sure if this will solve your problem but it might be worth a try.

cheers

I have the exact same issue on the web side of things. The home screen is not loading sometimes on 3.2.70. It just sits there and has the spinning loading icon. Checking the library, managing metadata and all other screens appear to be working correctly.

I found if you click into the settings and reset, this fixes things temporarily until the next time this happens (and it does not appear to actually restart the server as it is immediately available again). Mind you this only works if you have admin access. Bug is definitely annoying.

If the issue repeats again I'll post a couple of sets of logs.

Hi, there's no example of anything slow in this log.

What do you think about the lines that are tagged with [slow]? I just did a search and found 31 such lines, of which at least 10 took 20+ seconds to return the completed the query. Is this normal? I feel like queries should be very fast and rarely take longer than 1 second to complete? Some of the queries are taking upwards of 40 seconds, that seems high to me.

 Busy: database is locked

Do you by chance have more than one instance of Emby Running?  That is usually the only way this happens.

Pretty sure it locks the db when library scanning?

No, but you only have one log that this happened in so it is hard to say why it happened.

Well your last couple logs show it where your first log didn't

Sorry mixed logs up as there are two different issues here.

The locked database applies to @@archangelz

You also have plugins that are currently not valid/compatible, looks like about 3 plugins

It appears there are two copies of Emby that are starting up on reboot. I can see two copies of embyserver.exe and electron in my task manager on startup for my machine with only a single tray icon. This wasn't happening before.

I would look in the startup folder and double check Services.

All of these old files apply to mediabrower files itself though. The apps it couldn't install appear to be MediaBrowser.Controller, MediaBrowser.Model and MediaBrowser.Common.

Those still apply now, but the plugins that apply to the version numbers are not compatible anymore.  They reside in plugin folder but you will see they are not loaded in Dashboard-Plugins.

It looks like there was a startup link for both the old Mediabrowser and Emby in the Startup folder.

Almost all of this applies to me. Most of the issues described in this thread.

And what would those be?  This topic is all over with totally unrelated issues.

This topic is about performance with Emby Server 3.2, which is now 2 years old. None of this applies to Emby Server 4.0+. If you're having an issue we're happy to help. Please see how to report a problem. Thanks.
