Convert existing TV recordings

Is there any way to convert existing TV recordings to MKV.  Like the feature in DVR but one that I can control to have happen in off hours?

That seems close but doesn't that force me to download from a client in order to start the conversion?  All I want to do is to convert the recordings and have them go back in the same location and delete the original.  Is there anyway for me to kick off the process you use in the DVR feature?  I'm a premiere subscriber if that helps.

What do you mean by download a client? you can do this from the web app.

Hi Luke.  Sorry I was a little lost but I think I found my way.  That seems really close to what I want.  Do I just manually replace the TS files (original recordings) with the newly generated MKV's or is there more to it?

 

I'd like to use the auto convert in the DVR function but I need the ability to opt out certain recordings that my wife likes to time shift

Yes you can do that. In the future we'd like to have the ability to handle this for you.
