mrfaulk 10 Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 shield tv pro - i'm starting to build my library database and have a few questions... - is there any way to disable the green "collections" box (and any other boxes that might appear in the future) and instead just have poster art similar to the rest of the screen? - i'm getting blank poster art columns even tho the poster art appears fine when i select the library. - any way to land on an "all movies" page at startup, for example the action > all movies page instead of the action "summary" page? - is there a way to back out of emby into the shield gui without signing out of emby? thanks in advance!

How are you running this on your Shield? not sure i understand the question? downloaded the server to my pc, managing emby (dashboard) via pc web browser / emby theater, installed emby theater app (apk) on my shield tv pro... - fwiw i did sort out how to easily get back to the leanback home page, it was giving me probs before. - re the "collections" box, didn't realize it was for "sets", which is great, altho renaming it in settings to "sets" doesn't seem to stick. - re the blank columns i mentioned before, seems like a redraw/paint issue, if i scroll past the blank columns and then back the artwork appears, same goes for the "movie view", it loads 90%+ but at time a row will be blank, scrolling past the row and then back displays the artwork. a couple of other questions.... - first, emby's metadata function is outstanding imo, so much better than it did the last time i demoed emby many moons ago, night and day, in fact it's much better than plex and kodi afaic, it accurately identified at least 90% of my 500+ movies, most of which are named poorly / without dates, but manually editing the files it didn't catch was a breeze with imdb/tmd id feature... prob is the metadata refreshed sometime in the last 24 hours, which erased some of the custom titles i added, not sure if i accidentaly caused the refresh, or if it was automatic, but is there a way to protect this from happening again? does the "lock" feature do this? i think i read that changing the folder category from movies to home movies work too? the last time i demoed emby i played around with css a bit, but i can't remember if the edits flowed through to the emby theater tv app? i'm guessing it doesn't? if not, is there a way to edit the app using css? thanks!

That's what Ebr was asking. i've been catching up on forum reading and discovered that the emby theater apk that i've been testing isn't the "official" emby android app, had no idea, surprised me, so ebr's question now makes sense... anyway et seems to be running fine on my non-rooted shield pro, but i haven't really spent a ton of time with it yet, are there any known performance issues or any other known drawbacks when using the et apk vs the emby android app?
Luke 42078 Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 the only one is that it might not direct play quite as many formats as the android tv app.
