Emby theater for Win10 IOT Core?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Is the Emby Theater app for Windows written as a universal windows platform app? If yes, is it possible to compile it for arm and test if it works with win10 IOT Core?

This would be a much more "seamless" setup than Kodi with emby addon for those of us that are using raspberry pi's for media center.

Apps can be easily installed and set to auto startup on win10 iot core by using the web configuration utility.

EDIT: I noticed in microsoft store that emby theater already have a package for arm devices, is it possible to get an offline copy of the arm package and certificate to test on iot core?

hi @@deadnex, we don't really have a special place to put these right now, so for you can play with the attached build. let us know how it goes. thanks !

Thanks @@Luke,

I was able to install the package, but when I try to connect to my server I get a connection failure message. I've tried both Emby connect and manual setup, however only from external (at work) with https and a commercial certificate. I will install Win10 IOT Core on one of my raspberrys at home and see if I'm able to connect there using http and default port.

I was able to connect to the server using http, but i could not play any videos. I tried playing a bunch of different formats/resolutions, but all gave the same error:

It should perform well. Why not give it a try and report your experience.

I would

But against my assumption I don’t have access to the store. I need an „appx“ file.

Why don't you have access?
