Guest asrequested Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Can you play the videos in other players like VLC?
daniel.bmyer 11 Posted January 30, 2018 Author Posted January 30, 2018 Ok so download the vlc 7zip package. Tried playing the movie and same thing...actually it's worse. Pic gets all scrambled. So far the only place I can watch the movies is via my Nvidia Shield TV wired into my router. I guess it's just not possible on my laptop...
Guest asrequested Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 It should be. I think you have something going on with your laptop.
Guest asrequested Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 One more thing you could try is using MPC-HC or MPC-BE. You may have better luck with those. And if it works, you can use them as an external player.
Guest asrequested Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 (edited) @@daniel.bmyer I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but this might also work. Put this line in the mpv.conf for Theater. And set HWA to auto. vf=format=colormatrix=bt.709:primaries=bt.709 Edited February 1, 2018 by Doofus
daniel.bmyer 11 Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 Oddly enough it starts out much smoother then slowly goes back to choppy I think I'll just leave it at this point. I think I'll just forgo 4k movies on my laptop. Not a big deal. I do appreciated all the help.
Guest asrequested Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 (edited) Well, what that last thing does, is convert the HDR to SDR. So it should reduce the bandwidth going to your display. I'm thinking your issue is related to your display. Ok, I just wanted to try one last thing Edited February 2, 2018 by Doofus
