Proline 0 Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Recently set up Emby and trying premiere for a month. Having issue with live Tv on Nvidia Shield 2015. Select channel and spinning circle for a few seconds then frozen screen. If I repeatedly hit the fast forward button it sometimes starts playing but stumbles intermittantly. Emby server running on Pc....everything is hard wired cat6. Setting set to direct stream....tried different settings to no avail...also tried beta version app same problem. Any ideas?
Proline 0 Posted January 28, 2018 Author Posted January 28, 2018 Forgot to add running 2 HdHomerun primes as source. Live Tv works fine with Hdhomerun app.

My one thought was after looking at the logs was although is sending direct stream the shield doesnt like the container ffmpeg is putting it in.

The examples you gave are not direct streaming, they are transcoding and not quite fast enough. The container is fine.

Whats odd is I have it set for direct stream live tv in settings for both server and app. Whats weirder is my server just did a bunch of forced windows updates and now seems to be working on Shield....lol. I had tried rebooting server prior and no luck. As long as working now all is good. Thanks.
ebr 16182 Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Whats odd is I have it set for direct stream live tv in settings for both server and app. If direct streaming doesn't work or isn't possible, the app will fall back to a method that will work instead of simply failing to play the content and forcing you to go figure out why.

Moved Emby server to faster PC....streams flawless to multiple client both on Lan and over internet never exceeding 12 percent cpu usage....now Shield it seems updated to emby 1.5.48 from 1.5.47 and is stalling and now asking for upgrade to premiere....Server has premiere subscription. Is not a network problem...I plugged a firetv in same port in place if shield and works flawlessly. Says Version 1.5.48g in trial...expires in 5 days.......
