android tv completely freezes up

i keep having this problem where it plays for awhile but the starts stuttering and if i press back it just keeps stuttering. it will continue doing this until i have to completely restart my tv.

 

Im running android tv on my sony bravia tv

 

and im running the beta version

How long have you been using the app for? Is this a new thing?

Had it for around a month now seemed to work fine at first but now I can't even get through one episode without it cutting out. I'm having to connect my laptop to the tv and use the browser at the minute because it works better

Around a few weeks ago. So I changed over to the beta to see if that would help but no better

That sounds like maybe a network issue.

 

What is the network connection?  Wireless?

Does this happen on every movie, or just that one movie? Do you have any lower resolution videos to test, and if so, does it happen with those?

It's not really on a set movie it happens on tv shows and movies all the time. I've still got my laptop connected to the tv at the minute because the app is unusable for me

Played things in standard definition but still had the issue. Tried uninstalling it and installing again but still no change. Most of the videos I play are all remux and I don't really fancy buying a Nvidia shield

At exactly what point does it "freeze" and what does it mean to freeze?  What is on the screen?

I haven't enabled the refresh rate no I'll try that. When I press to send the log to devs it does nothing and then tells me emby has stopped working with the options close app, wait and report feedback.

@@ebr will confirm but i think if you use the report feedback button that will send us a crash report. thanks.

Hi.  What was the name of the Emby user logged on at the time and what problem was exhibited before sending this log?  (e.g. what did you play and what happened, etc.)

Same as my username was logged in and I was watching lethal weapon and got around 10 minutes in before it started stuttering to which I pressed back on the remote but I kept stuttering I literally couldn't do anything but wait until it turned off and restarted.
