pagali 62 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 This morning I got the message "Unable to connect to remote server" when trying to access the Plugins Catalog from the Dashboard. Also, alerts are showing at the bottom of the Dashboard "Check for application updates Failed" and "Check for plugin updates Failed" I don't think it's my internet connection... everything else seems to be working as usual.
Logos302 86 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Might be that ebr just released a new version of MBC and there servers are having trouble keeping up. usually happens when something new is pushed.
ebr 16169 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I don't see anything unusual going on with our host right now nor any high bandwidth spikes over the past 24hrs and the MBC release hasn't gone very wide yet. Has it cleared up?
pagali 62 Posted March 14, 2014 Author Posted March 14, 2014 Just got home from running errands... still getting the same "Unable to connect to server..." messages. Tried on the MB3 server itelf, and on my laptop. Tried with the usual Firefox, and with IE. No difference. Plugin catalog from within MBC just sits at a grey screen with no plugins appearing, and no error messages--back key returns to installed plugins list. Server 3.0.5171.19958; MBC 3.0.137.0 3-10.1 Oh well, if nobody else is seeing it... must be me! (Note that MB3 server, and MBC on home theater, are still working fine. It's just updates that seem troubled.)
pagali 62 Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Update -- it seems it was a firewall problem... but now I'll have to figure out why it only appeared today when nothing has changed for quite a while...
