Ultimate eye-candy won't be here until you don't need a full headset for VR. Get back to me when the technology requires a device no bigger than sunglasses or no wearable device at all.

You don´t, you zoom it in until you actually watch the video properly, either 2D or 3D whatever you want. Throwing the virtual popcorn is fun though and the group watching I´d like. I travel a lot... Voice chatting while watching a movie with my boys while I´m away, yes, I´d like it...

it may look fun, but there's no way I'd be ever able to finish watching a movie in VR.
The quality is horrible, and you're sure going to get motion sickness.
