feardamhan 6 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Howdy all I recently attempted to port my emby server setup from windows over to linux. I save my metadata with the media, so that my kodi clients can read the same metadata. I noticed that when I ported over, my kodi clients (mac/android/linux) were all struggling to read the metadata as the NFO files were being written in linux format vs windows ( I first noticed it in the tvshow.nfo files). Is this a known thing? ie can Kodi clients only read Windows format NFO metadata? I checked everywhere in Emby at there doesnt seem to be a setting for this, so I assume its just relying on the underlying operating system. I've since ported back to my windows box until I figure this out. Input appreciated!
feardamhan 6 Posted January 24, 2018 Author Posted January 24, 2018 Oh. Should have mentioned. That setup is Emby via Docker on Debian. Assume its the same on Debian directly, but havent personally tested. Then again....perhaps a docker quirk!
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 my qnap can read "windows" created nfo's - so might be a docker thing any errors in the log files?
Luke 42077 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Hi there @feardamham, they are exactly the same. please discuss a specific example and attach the information requested in how to report a problem. thanks !
