Guest asrequested Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 (edited) If I record a show and watch it, I get the watched status. This is correct. If I then acquire that show and add it to a completely separate hard drive and library, I get the same watched status. Is this intended? If it is, how do I disabled it? This is bad. I want every library to be completely independent. I don't want one library to have any connection/influence over another. Edited January 24, 2018 by Doofus
Guest asrequested Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 This is terrible! I change the status in one library, and it changes both libraries. I can't find an option to stop this. Please tell me I'm missing something!
Luke 42079 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 It's intended, always been that way. Watch status is based on imdb, tmdb, tvdb id's, etc. That's what makes your user data so easy to backup and restore into another server installation. (if you have ever used that then i'm sure you have appreciated it then).
Guest asrequested Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Yuck! I'm going to have to find a way to break it. This doesn't work for me.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 @ question - if you have bought a copy of the recorded episode/movie - why keep the old probably inferior quality version? just curious
AdrianW 1058 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I have this issue with local trailers. If the trailer is marked as watched when I get the full movie that's marked as watched as well. I thought back in the MB3 days that resume and watched status would only be saved for files over a specified length - this was great for trailers and music videos. 1

Guest asrequested Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 @ question - if you have bought a copy of the recorded episode/movie - why keep the old probably inferior quality version? just curious The recording will be deleted, eventually, but I don't watch them all, immediately. I just don't want my libraries linked, in any way. I've just made 4k movie library. It's probably happening with that too. I'm definitely going to look for a way to break, this.
Guest asrequested Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I actually don't want a watched status for movies, at all.
Luke 42079 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 You could probably muck with the external id's in other to trick the system into thinking that they're different.

I was thinking of something along those lines. Maybe manually adjust the metadata and lock each show. I'll have to futz with it, and see what I can do. Edited January 24, 2018 by Doofus
