Play channel instead of showing info screen

Is it possible to start playing the stream immediately when the tile is selected instead of showing the info screen?

I'm referring to Web App and Android/Android TV apps. If Create my own channel, I want to be able to click ( or select with remote) anywhere on the image and immediately play the item rather than taking me to the info screen where I select play.

Right ok. There is currently no way for the channel plan to convey that instruction to the ui.

Ok. I think it would be a good option to have as it reduces number of clicks required to play an item. Probably useful in any part of Emby not just channels.

In the TV app, you can hit the "play" button on your remote.

Yea that's true, all of our TV apps support that.

Yes I tried and it kind of works. When I select play on Shield TV (double-tap volume bar on the remote), the video starts but unfortunately it also unpauses the music (In my case Google Play Music) and I get audio output from both sources. Seems like the play/pause action is sent to all the apps.
