GhostRider 49 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Reported this in another thread for version 3.2.60.0 so I thought it best to start my own thread for this problem. I start emby using a scheduled task at boot using the -service option. When I logon to the server PC and use the web browser intreface the play and trailer buttons are missing from the movie page. This is what I see, console window in Edge browser also displayed. Debug log attached. Many thanks server-63651982165.txt
Luke 42085 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 can you click on the first red error? it may show additional info. can you capture that? thanks.
GhostRider 49 Posted January 19, 2018 Author Posted January 19, 2018 Hi Luke If I try clicking on the error msg nothing happens, on the far right handside it says playbackmanager.js (1,13381). If I click on that I get a copy of the code, maybe that arrow on the left is pointing to the line that caused the error? Not sure but if it is help I attach a screen shot of what opens if I click on the playbackmanager.js (1,13381) link.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 How did you setup the Scheduled task? I just scheduled a task and can not reproduce this. Windows 10
GhostRider 49 Posted January 19, 2018 Author Posted January 19, 2018 (edited) As a scheduled task at boot time: Had this issue since version 3.2.60.0 Edited January 19, 2018 by GhostRider
Luke 42085 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 it really shouldn't make a difference but just to confirm, does this happen if you run the server the normal way?
GhostRider 49 Posted January 19, 2018 Author Posted January 19, 2018 (edited) If I use task manager and kill the emby process and then start as normal i.e. icon in the system tray then the play and trailer buttons are displayed as expected. I noticed that starting it this way creates two electon processes as well. Not sure if that is important but when booting the server and starting as a scheduled task there are no electron processes running in the background. Edited January 19, 2018 by GhostRider

Electron is only needed for the tray icon Can you post a screenshot of the General tab of the task.

GhostRider 49 Posted January 22, 2018 Author Posted January 22, 2018 I just tried using IE on my server PC and it displays the movie page correctly complete with play and trailer buttons. Switch to Edge browser and the play and trailer buttons disappear. Is there a way to get this to work with Edge or is this down to a Microsoft bug?
naeonline 27 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 @@Luke What is the -service parameter for? What effect would it have it he were to run the server in the scheduled task without it?
Luke 42085 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 it disables UI features that aren't applicable when running under a service, and most importantly, it is the only way we are supporting it.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 I haven't been able to replicate this on any browser on Windows 10 Pro. v1709.16299.192.
