snorkel 15 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Hi, New to Emby, but was wondering if emby on linux had the ability to wake the server from sleep to record? If not built in maybe with a post recording processing script like MythTV does using RTCwake? 1
Luke 42077 Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 Hi, we don't currently support this but it's definitely something we can look into at some point. Thanks !
snorkel 15 Posted January 18, 2018 Author Posted January 18, 2018 Thanks Luke, I actually meant a post recording schedule event. I think that's how myth TV does it. It just passes the info to RTCwake via params. Not sure exactly I have not used MythTV since 2002 but however it worked way back then. https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/ACPI_Wakeup
Luke 42077 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 This will be coming to the Windows Server two releases from now: Enjoy.
mark-in-dallas 87 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 I realize that this is an old thread but wanted to post to add a thumbs up for adding wake to record function. I recently switched to Linux Mint for running my Emby Server, and decided to check to see if there was wake to record functionality like there is in Windows. When the computer didn't wake up to record I came here to see if there were any threads and found this one.
Luke 42077 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 We haven't added support for this for Linux yet, but yes I agree that we should. Thanks for the feedback.
