gene0915 42 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 When I was running Windows, I followed a pretty detailed guide to get zap2xml (for free TV guide data) working. Now that I've switched to Linux (Mint), I'm having trouble finding a good guide. Yes, I've seen a guide or two out there but it was hard to follow for me. And since I might be switching to Antergos (Arch based) on my server down the road, I was wondering if anyone knew of a really detailed guide that a Linux newbie could follow that covers how to get zap2xml working under Debian based distros as well as Arch? Thanks

I have not found much information past using the --help in the file. here is what i use though maybe it will help you. sudo ./zap2xml.pl -u *** -p *** -N 2 -i test -a -d 14 the test after -i is the directory you want to store the icons for the channels. I also have the -N 2 so that the first 2 days of downloaded data is not cached i figure this helps to ensure today and tomorrows guide data is as up to date as possible. I dont know how often emby refreshes its schedule for recordings but i imagine its at least daily so i figure this helps ensure the episode and season information populates. Also if you have not downloaded the script in a month or so its worth going back and downloading it, there have been some major changes. Edited January 16, 2018 by tdiguy
