Hi guys, I have just tested between Emby and Plex in terms of transcoding and have come across some x265/HEVC noticeable differences between Emby and Plex. Emby on my brand new LG TV is awesome and direct plays most of the HEVC content that I throw at it, however on Plex this doesn't direct play it funnily enough but transcodes very clearly and quick which is to the point it's near unoticeable . On my Samsung TV that doesn't support HEVC sadly, when I transcode through Emby (regardless of setting the preset setting to "very slow" and the "H264 encoding CRF" to 1) it's not any where near as clear as what it does through Plex transcoding. I was wondering if there was something that I could do to alter this or match the settings that Plex use to get the same output from Emby. Well, good news guys, I have found the source of my problem. Since I am from New Zealand, I've always used the Emby client Frostbyte 1st started development and downloaded it from one of the servers he hosted the App from?. I just saw a thread about changing my TV to use the UK/US App store etc to download the official App from the store. So I did that, and it's corrected the issue entirely and now looks identical to how Plex was transcoding it. Not only has it fixed that, but now the App is uniform with rest and thoroughly am pleased to find this out. I didn't realise this newer App existed. Is there a way for me to download this App and switch back to the New Zealand App store? Regards Strugz
