Adblocker on Safari really slows things down

Not sure if people are aware of this, but I noticed it today when I was clearing down some stuff on my iMac.

 

I've had Adblocker running as a Safari Extension for some time, long before I switched over to using emby.  I always felt emby was a little slow compared with Plex, but hadn't even considered that Adblocker might be slowing it down.

 

As part of the 'cleanse' I'd disabled all the Safari Extensions and noticed immediately how much quicker emby felt to use.  I hadn't put this down to Adblocker until I switched this back on, and then noticed everything was much much slower.  A little squirreling in the Adblocker settings and I whitelisted my emby IP address and the speed was back!

 

So if you're using Adblocker on Safari, I'd strongly suggest adding emby into the whitelist and feel the speed

+1 for Pi-hole. I run it as a VM on my ESXi box. Blocks ads for all my devices, also removes ads for on-demand tv (NZ).
