RanmaCanada 500 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I'm going through my settings and I just noticed that every single user on my server, by DEFAULT now has access to delete files on my server. When the hell did this become a default freaking setting? Who the T$#$%#() thought in their infinite freaking wisdom that this would be a great freaking idea to give every single freaking user delete access and forcing us admins to have to go through every single user to have to more this "feature". Seriously WHAT THE T$)(^T#$%! WHY? If I didn't have one of my friend's boxes here to setup and wasn't logged into their account I would have had no idea that this was a default setting that had changed. Who's stupid bright idea was to do this? No seriously, who thought it would be a great idea to give the inmates the keys to the asylum? Disable this "feature" immediately. God I can imagine how horrible people with 50+ users must feel. 1
Luke 42085 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Hi, when you create a new user, all you need to do is click on that user and you can edit their permissions.
RanmaCanada 500 Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Has it always been like this? I just recently found out about a feature that was apparently added a year or so ago, and I don't peer into these areas often. I had media being going missing from my server and I was wondering why. Now I know that some user was deleting stuff because they didn't understand that they were deleting things on my end, and not on their's.
