Jennice 19 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Hi folks, I'm desperate. I have one reordes show which won't play on my Win10 web browser on the server, nor on the Win7 web client. But it plays on my Android phone!? Error log attached. I REALLY hope anyone can help, explain, and get it playing before my spouse freaks out.
Luke 42085 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Hi, did you forget to attach the log? thanks.
Jennice 19 Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Oops... Let's try again Log20180112--21_17.zip
Jennice 19 Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 The screen goes black, as if preparing to play, and the fails with the message: "No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details." Butr it plays fine on Android.
Jennice 19 Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 I just found out, it plays on a Win10 client using Emby Theater, but not with the web browser player.
Jennice 19 Posted January 14, 2018 Author Posted January 14, 2018 I have cross-tested. This stream (1080i, h264) plays on Win7 SP1 and Win10 with Emby Theater, but not on any Windows PC using the Web browser interface. It plays on android, though. Luke: Are you interested if I can find a way to transfer the file to you for investigation? (using WeTransfer or similar).
Luke 42085 Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 dropbox, google drive are fine. if it's just one file you may want to re-encode it.
Jennice 19 Posted January 14, 2018 Author Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) Hi Luke, It's the first time I tried Google drive, but I hope I did it right. Please let me know if I need changes. The link should be: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1K35dQ0Gs59lurOoHb7FeDBPc4lM31pqY/view?usp=sharing It's around 3 GB, and won't start playback on Web browser (Win7 and Win10). Plays fine on Emby Theater on Win7 and Win10. The file also plays on Android (transcoded, WLAN on my phone) Let me know when you got the file, so I can remove it when investigated. Jennice 19 Posted January 17, 2018 Author Posted January 17, 2018 For the time being, it's solved by using Emby Theater (one of my clients can't use ET due to Win7 plain, not SP1). But it seems that my emby INSISTS on transcoding content, even on LAN and. Any ideas why, and how to disable for local viewing? Server is Win10 viewer is web interface, client is Win7SP1, viewer is Emby Theater. I think "plain" viewing shouldn't load an i7 8700k to around 20% !?
Luke 42085 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 We'd have to look at the server/ffmpeg logs of an example. Theater will try to direct play everything. What might have happened is that the player reported an error and therefore automatically switched to transcoding.
Jennice 19 Posted January 26, 2018 Author Posted January 26, 2018 I gave up on the issue... using Emby Theater, which plays it fine
