Can't enter port number in ET app

Recommended Posts

Hi Luke.

Just installed the latest ET app on my Samsung TV, but I can't get past the port field, as no matter what I do with the remote, it won't let me enter anything. I don't use the standard 8096 port, so I need to change it.

Putting the IP address in the server field was bad enough, but eventually it was OK.

Does ET not do auto-discovery like the Android TV app?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Is this on an Orsay or Tizen TV?

Orsay, an F8000.

You can't :)  I believe @SamES is already looking at that.

How long before it's generally available please?

Posted

It depends on the Samsung review process. We're generally able to release 1-2 updates per month.

I know that, but when will the "next release" be available please ??

I know you said above that "It depends on the Samsung review process", but any indication when it will be available please ??

The app is totally useless on my TV not being able to connect to my server with it.

Thanks.

I can only report on what I can control, sorry.

Is there any update on the latest release of the app yet please?

Have Samsung reviewed it yet?

As soon as it gets through the review process it will be available. Thanks.

Looks like updates for a number of models have launched today. Basically everything except 2017.

Just updated to v0.112.

Damn, that's an awkward keyboard entry system that Samsung uses!!

OK, I was able to (finally) enter the port number and connect.

How do you bring the OSD up during playback, as I can't seem to get it working.

Without the OSD, you can't do anything.

Some of the navigation buttons on the remote do work, but not entirely sure what they are doing.

The 'down' button/arrow should bring up the OSD

No, that doesn't work.

I've pressed all of the buttons and no way does the OSD appear.

Have you checked the batteries in your remote?

I'll try it on my 2013 Blu-ray player to see if I get the same

I get the same on my F6500 BD player.  Lots of things don't look right though so I would use the old community app for your 2013 device

2013 devices are based on an older rendering engine that this app just isn't built for. To fully support it is just something that will take time and have to come a little with each new release.
