Jibest 27 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Hi, I'm running Emby from my QNAP and transcoding would not work (error said it could not find FFMPEG) I installed ffmpeg 3.4.0 separately, pointed the path to /opt/ffmpeg & transcoding works no problem. The issue is that every time I restart the QNAP the path to FFMPEG changes back to the default and I have to set it back to /opt/ffmpeg again? The QNAP is a TS-253A I've also noticed that if I set an Emby shortcut to the home screen it seems to randomly disappear also but i'm not too concerned by that (just thought you should now in case its related to Emby). Everything else i've installed stays put. Thanks, Jon
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) Hi Might be time to try out the https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/51334-new-qnap-package-for-testing/ i.e the new .netcore version as then you do not have to worry about ffmpeg as its "built into the install" etc and mono is no longer needed i have been running it on my 853A for a couple of months now with no issues as for the disappearing shortcut - i see this as well - it appears for me when i shut down the emby server via the qnap app centre the shortcut disappears although does reappear after a new package version is installed - i just have a shortcut to emby server in my browser to bring up the dashboard so i do not worry about the qnap dashboard shortcut Edited January 11, 2018 by PenkethBoy
