extensive 20 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Is there a way to limit Collections from appearing on all libraries? Example I have 2 libraries Kids Movies Movies When I go to Kids Movies, at the top I can get to Collections. In the collections it is not limited to just Kids Movie collections. This makes no sense to me, hopefully there is a way to fix it.

Make a separate login for kids, put a pin or blank password for the account, and deny access to non kid movie libraries and everything will fall into place. This is what I use in my house with kids. Solution ebr 16187 Posted January 10, 2018 Solution Posted January 10, 2018 Hi. As Mastermind indicated, you can control the access to not only the individual movies but also the collections themselves via parental controls. Please see: Collections mixed in different libraries The short answer to the issue is that collections can contain items of any type from any library so they are global to the entire system. 1

mastrmind11 722 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 (edited) im confused, sorry. what are you suggesting? Move your kids stuff to a kids folder (I have a kids-movies and a kids-tv folder). Add the new kids libraries to Emby. Create a "kid" login w/ or w/o a password or pin, and only allow that login access to the kid(s) librar(ies). Kids collections will generate and follow suit. Edited January 10, 2018 by mastrmind11
Aussiedroid 56 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 I always assumed its just one master collection folder regardless. No way to separate per library basis. For me I have two movie collections as such. One with your usual movies and another with documentaries. My collections for both show in both libraries, well basically almost all are from movies but there is crossover. Don't think parental controls would be viable unless I wanted to change users each time I wanted to change libraries.

My kids collection poster shows my movies too. They're young enough that it doesn't matter just now, but I've been meaning to file a bug report re: the collection poster. This happens when logged in under the kids account too btw. If you file a report, I'll support it, otherwise I'll file one later this week since it's now top of mind.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Yes collections are visible to everyone as they do not physically reside in any library. They reside in "\Emby-Server\data\collections".
