Specials issue and missing posters

I struggle sometimes with SPECIALS showing up in ALL SEASONS. If I remove from Kodi, it removes them from SPECIALS also (they are appearing both places.) When this issue happens, I don't get posters for either ALL SEASONS or SPECIALS in Kodi. Emby view is fine.

If I understand your issue correctly - There are tags that you can add/modify in the nfo for each of the item to have the specials show up where you want them to:

<airsafter_season></airsafter_season>

<airsbefore_episode></airsbefore_episode>

<airsbefore_season></airsbefore_season>

<displayepisode></displayepisode>

<displayseason></displayseason>

 

A bit of a pain to do it manually, if there are a lot. For a few it is easy enough to do.

 

This works in Kodi, but I don't think it works in Emby. If you want them to show only in specials in kodi I believe <displayseason>-1</displayseason> is what you choose, otherwise you fill these tags with what ever the particular season/episode you want them to be displayed in.

 

I am sure you can get more info on each tag with a search.

I'm not sure I fully understand what's being said.

 

Make sure your metadata is filled correctly in the Emby metadata editor. Select special episodes and make sure the special episode info is filled either with [Airs After season] or [Airs Before season and Airs Before episode]. Hit save, it should send an update to Kodi and you should see the episode reoorder when you re-enter the episode listings.

 

I use doctor who as a reference, all my specials show in their respective season AND in the specials folder. They all have the proper order, as it is in the webclient.
