Multiple Versions and nfo files

Hello,

  I've been struggling a lot with the new multiple versions feature.  I like it and think it has promise but there are still things to work out.  To help me figure out what is going on: it appears that in some cases, Emby creates a single nfo file for the multiple versions but in other cases I get one for each version.  What is the expected behavior?

 

For instance:

Armageddon [1998]/Armageddon [1998] - Theatrical Version.mkv

Armageddon [1998]/Armageddon [1998] - Theatrical Version.nfo

Armageddon [1998]/Armageddon [1998] - Director's Cut.mkv

Armageddon [1998]/Armageddon [1998] - Director's Cut.nfo

 

Terminator 2 - Judgment Day [1991]/Terminator 2 - Judgment Day [1991] - Special Edition.mkv

Terminator 2 - Judgment Day [1991]/Terminator 2 - Judgment Day [1991] - Special Edition.nfo

Terminator 2 - Judgment Day [1991]/Terminator 2 - Judgment Day [1991] - Theatrical Version.mkv

 

The first example I get two separate nfos.  The second one I get one file with info for both versions.

Also how does it decide which version is the one that gets the nfo file and does that have anything to do with which appears first in the list or which one CoverArt chooses to pick?

It should be saving metadata for all of them and there is no way to control or predict which one becomes the front-facing entry. That is something that still needs fleshing out. Thanks.

Thanks.  I look forward to this and other issues with multiple versions getting sorted out hopefully soon.  It really is a great feature which just some rough edges.

Thanks.  One other thing, I've tried everything, rescanning, removing nfos and trying to recreate them, etc., but for those with multiple versions in most cases I don't get nfo files for all of them.  Often if there are 3 versions of the same movie, I will get 2 nfos; if there are 2, I get 1.  It's not consistent and I cannot find a way to force the nfo creation.  Will this be addressed for multiple versions?

 

Also when selecting the version in the pulldown, tech details change, but would it also be possible to change the duration of the movie and the ending time?
