Mopar_Mudder 14 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Can some one explain to me thre process of how images for covers, actors, ect are handles with Emby. I just started over with a fresh install of Server and Theater. When I go into a movie detail it takes maybe 15-20 seconds for the movie poster to show up, even though it was on the previous screen where I was browsing the library. Then the actor images you might as well go make a pizza and come back, even then only maybe 1/2 of them show up. The other starange thing is that below actors where it show similar movies their are no images of the movie posters, just empty boxes. Which makes no sence because they show up in the main library where you browse for movies, so emby has the image it just isn't displaying it. I guess I assumed that all actor images were download right away, is it only downloading them as you need them?
Luke 42090 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Hi there, can we look at a server log from when you pulled up the detail screen? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ To answer some of your questions, by default most images are downloaded only as needed. Once they're downloaded, it should be much faster after that. Thanks.
Mopar_Mudder 14 Posted January 8, 2018 Author Posted January 8, 2018 Here is the log file. Starting at about 20:33:00 I logged into theater and went to the detail screen of Wonder Woman. The home screen for theater took almost a minute to populate with movie images. When I went to All Movies it was about 30 seconds before the cover art showed up, even though I was just in their earlier and it displayed them all. Once in the detail screen it was a little over a minute for the actors, movies like this and chapter images to show up. In the log I see a bunch of items noted as "(slow)". Also I see an error saying that he nfo file for Wonder Woman is being used by anther program, which can't be. On a side not I don't know why but if I try to use the Emby Forum in Microsoft Edge the space bar does not work when trying to type a reply, really strange @@Abobader. Chrome seem to work fine. FrostByte 5396 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 On a side not I don't know why but if I try to use the Emby Forum in Microsoft Edge the space bar does not work when trying to type a reply, really strange @@Abobader. Chrome seem to work fine. I get the same thing with the space bar in the forum a lot using Edge. I find if I have a problem though if I click in the box again with the mouse then I can get the space bar to work. It's been this way for about a month or more I think.
Abobader 3471 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Good day, On a side not I don't know why but if I try to use the Emby Forum in Microsoft Edge the space bar does not work when trying to type a reply, really strange @@Abobader. Chrome seem to work fine. I get the same thing with the space bar in the forum a lot using Edge. I find if I have a problem though if I click in the box again with the mouse then I can get the space bar to work. It's been this way for about a month or more I think. To fix the above issue, please do the following: Within Microsoft Edge, click on setting then Open Internet Explorer In IE, press ALT+T to open setting, then chose: "Compatibility View Setting" You will see the site "emby.media" click add and the site will be added. Then close IE, and the problem will be fixed. PS: I am typing this from Microsoft Edge. My best 1
Abobader 3471 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 But really, it a microsoft edge issue, and I recommend using another browser when it possible. 1
Luke 42090 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 To answer the original question, yes there are some slow image processing responses but results will be cached and as you use the new installation more it shouldn't happen anymore. thanks.
