Xbox S h265 4K transcoding

Hello,

 

Having issues with a few h265 files playing directly on the Xbox S app.

 

The files play back fine however the streams are transcoded instead of direct play, app quality setting is set to highest 4K setting.

 

When I check in the emby server side it states that the stream is being transcoded due to "Video resolution not supported"

 

Is there anything I am missing or is this a known issue?

Are allow 4K and HDR enabled on the XB1S?

Yes I do have that all enabled.

 

Glad it does not just seem to be me then, tried quite a few different files so have ruled out one particular file.

 

if there anything that could be of any extra use happy to provide.

You could ask in the other thread if Luke ever got a sample to work with.  I see he asked for one, but not sure he got anything so that he can come up with a fix.

I'm on an Xbox One X in 2018 and can't get 4K either. EVERYTHING is set up correctly. My guess is that the Xbox can't do 4K unless it's a bluray.

No, you should be able to play 4k now on Xbox One X. Can we see an example? thanks !
