Update metadata for all files in folder or change folder type

Is it possible to remove a genre for every item in a folder?

 

I have two collections, Disney cartoons and Looney Tunes and the type for both is Movie so it pulls all metadata from tmdb.  If I change the type of the folder, will that pull all of the cartoons out of Movies and still retain the data pull from tmdb?

Two separate questions, yes. But if the answer to #2 is yes, then I don't need #1.

You could use the genre cleaner and remove a specific genre.  I do that o rename "sci-fi" to "science fiction" and to remove "comedy/drama"
