Parental Ratings (Server Move)

Hi,

 

I am moving Emby server from a Windows 10 machine to a Qnap. Emby is running on the Qnap and i've started to copy the media files across. When I come to use the backup plugin will the custom parental ratings i've made be included in the backup and get transferred across?

Hi no I don't. Should I enable that first on the old server before transferring the data?

Well yes, except that will only apply to new metadata that gets saved. To force nfo metadata to be saved for existing titles you'll need to perform full library refreshes. Please let us know if this helps.

To answer your question specifically, the backup plugin is designed to backup/restore configuration info.  It does not backup your metadata or media.

 

However, saving metadata with your media makes it persistent and portable all on its own.
