computerprep 148 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Had to migrate some files to a new storage device, and my library settings were to use the date a file was scanned into the library... So now that my library is rescanning all these files with a new folder path, it's overwriting their previous date-added metadata values. I previously did not want to use the file creation date, as my process for gathering media sometimes retained a file creation date very different from the desired date added. I've fixed that, and have subsequently changed my library setting to file creation date, but I'm hoping there's a way to clear all the date added values so a metadata refresh wouldn't take so unbearably long. Any ideas? Files in new storage retained their original file creation date from before the migration, so the dates added would be nice more accurate.
Luke 42085 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Well if you save metadata to nfo you might be able to bulk edit them. @@Happy2Play is pretty good with that.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) You could support the TimeLord plugin developer and have a plugin that would change all the Added Dates to the Release date. The fasts is the plugin but that doesn't help you wanting creation date, and there is no fast way for a library scan to rebuild all the information? So changing all you media dates is going to require a full library scan. But you could use notepad++ and clear that field if you wish. Already a post here with the same question.
