Mikeferdy 0 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 My Server C drive got full. What I have done:- 1) Make a copy of the "emby-server" metadata folder from C drive to D drive 2) Ensure both folder have same permission 3) Went into Emby console -> Library -> Advance -> Updated Medadata Path -> Saved But the metadata in metadata manage still remained in C Drive. I've also tested deleting and creating a new library folder but the new metadata still was created in C Drive. What am I missing? Emby is not functioning with a full C drive...
dansblackcat 37 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 (edited) I think it will just start adding any new metadata to the new folder location and not copy over the existing data. Pretty sure you will have to manually cut and paste the files from the old location to the new one. Edited January 4, 2018 by dansblackcat 1
Luke 42080 Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Then make sure to run a library scan after doing that.
Mikeferdy 0 Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 Its not working... I've already set the metadata location to D Drive but it is still saving in C Drive. I've even deleted the library and re-scanned a new one but its still saving in C Drive. Its still taking up space in C....
Mikeferdy 0 Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 My Bad. Apparently the metadata "library" is indeed saved in D Drive. Under metadata. The above screenshot doesn't reflect the folder which is taking up space.
Mikeferdy 0 Posted January 5, 2018 Author Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) So you're good now? Library is still rebuilding now. Metadata (taking up around 10GB) is ok in D drive. But I noticed the cache folder is increasing in size now in my C drive. Also, I don't know if its because the library is rebuilding but I can't view any image folder yet. Gonna let it run another day and see how it goes. Edit: I've set my image folders as Unset (mixed content) because it has multiple sub folders. But I noticed all videos are viewable but not the images. Any idea why? Edited January 5, 2018 by Mikeferdy
Happy2Play 9782 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) Has library scan finished? Sometime folder images require a second library scan to populate. As for the cache folder there is another setting for that folder as it is independant of the Metadata folder, and so is the Trancoding temp folder. Cache folder go to Dashboard-Settings-Advanced-Cache path:Transcoding temporary go to Dashboard-Transcoding-Transcoding temporary path: Edited January 5, 2018 by Happy2Play
Luke 42080 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Yes I think those will resolve themselves when the scan finishes. Thanks.

Cache folder go to Dashboard-Settings-Advanced-Cache path: Transcoding temporary go to Dashboard-Transcoding-Transcoding temporary path: Update: Thanks for the info. I changed the cache folder to D drive as well so I shouldn't be expecting a full C drive anymore. But for the photos, using Unset (mixed content) doesn't seem to work. I've changed it to Home Videos and Photos and got it working, even with multiple sub-folders.
ebr 16185 Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 But for the photos, using Unset (mixed content) doesn't seem to work. In that context, images are metadata not media. Only the home videos and photos types will treat them as media. We should probably update the description of that "Unset" type to say something like "Mixed movies and TV" instead of just mixed content.

Update: I've noticed setting "home videos and photos" folder for my family photo (purely photos) works great. But other folders with a mixture of videos and photos only favors the videos and not display the photos.
Luke 42080 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Can you discuss some specific examples? Thanks !
Mikeferdy 0 Posted January 8, 2018 Author Posted January 8, 2018 (edited) Can you discuss some specific examples? Thanks ! It seems to be similar to this old thread https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/19845-photos-media-folder-ignores-pictures-if-video-present/ But I don't have time create a test folder to share with the public yet. I'll get to it once I have the time. I am using the current Version 3.2.60.0 Edited January 8, 2018 by Mikeferdy
Luke 42080 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 ok, we'd really need to see what the folder structure looks like, thanks.
Mikeferdy 0 Posted January 9, 2018 Author Posted January 9, 2018 (edited) ok, we'd really need to see what the folder structure looks like, thanks. Ok, I think I've figured it out. One of my photo folders is actually a copy of my cloud folder. (I'm using owncloud) And there are hidden files in the folder that could have interfered with emby. I've deleted these files from the photo + video gallery folder and it starts working again. I now just got to make sure I don't copy these files when I sync my cloud and my gallery. Thanks for all the help guys. Edited January 9, 2018 by Mikeferdy
Sammy 790 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Why move it? Isn't it faster too keep it on a SSD Boot Drive? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
