Let me say first emby is great !

 

Few questions :

 

1. IPTV with m3u, who initiates the stream towards iptv provider, client (emby theather for example) or the emby server?

2. Any way to point Emby server to use a proxy server ?

3. Is there a way to completly disable transcoding?

Depends on which app, but usually the server.

Sure, you can disable user permissions for transcoding but that might cause playback failures due unsupported media.

I m already running squid on the server, thats why i m asking not only for m3u but for other caching needs.

Ok. There are no proxy server settings inside emby if that's what you mean.

Thank you for your quick answers. Could you be so kind and confirm that windows Emby Theather app is using server connection for iptv m3u streams and not the client app.
