Library Metadata Bug

As i play more with emby now and figuring out the ins and outs now...I came across an interesting (and very annoying) bug on my end. I have noticed that Emby library scrub is about 85% accurate...not horrible. But here is the catch..I go through the process of checking the library source and seeing what is the issue. On one movie the was a mismatch problem with a movie and its sequel..the titles were the same..except for one had a 2 at the end. So I went to the folder and corrected the first movie to include the year like this (1990)..then I went to "identify" in emby and manually changed the title..applied, and it looked like it took...but after looking to manually scrub more titles I noticed that the title that I did all this adjusting to reverted back to the metadata of the sequel, I did the identify again.. and again it took, but then reverted back. This is not only happening to one of my manual scrubs..its happening to a lot of them,,,some manual scrubs tale permanently..a lot do not...I noticed some that I changed previously a few days ago reverted back...so not exactly sure what else to do...I really do not want to purge the whole library again..it takes a long time to correct on the wrong titles..even with movie years appended to the folder and the movie itself it doesnt seem to help the scrub.

Another interesting quick is the "back" function in the library..when I go to the options for a movie and press the arrow sign to go back to the list..it takes me all teh way back to the dashboard..not a huge issue..but sorta annoying when you are working on metadata correction and have constantly move in and out of the dashboard for every change

Ok, I think I found the problem..when you manually identify, at least in my case...it doesn't seem to purge or overwrite the old metadata...I have been successful now if i go in..add the year to the folder and video file and wipe the old data..so at least I know the fix now, so the bug is the Identify isn't updating the metadata properly.

Hi, can we please go over a specific example? Thanks !

A specific one would  have been pitch perfect and pitch perfect 2 (Dont judge)...both labeled correctly except no year markers.  Emby identified both titles as Pitch Perfect 2. I went in and and did an identify correction...it took..at first..when I went looking at other titles i noticed it flipped back to pp2. I then went in and added the years to both..I re identified pp, it took..then reverted back as I was looking at other titles to correct. After my post I went in and purged all the contents in te pp folder except the movie, ran identify again and this time it stayed. Daddy'd Home was another...I dont have Daddy's Home 2..but Emby Identified DH as DH2..I went back to it after I discovered the "fix" to pp and did the same to it..now it stayed as DH.

On a test system (stable build) I added Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2, without year and Pitch Perfect was identified as Pitch Perfect 3.  Selecting Identify and searching Pitch Perfect and selecting proper version and replace images worked without issue for me.

So more information is needed to try and reproduce this issue @@Lamista.
