Is there a "best" NAS platform for Emby?

I used to have a Synology but moved a couple of years ago to a dedicated server PC that I run Emby on but I'm now interested in going back to a NAS platform. Which of the supported NAS units is "best" supported by Emby, or are any particularly better supported than others? By that I mean an easier/ more native install, most features supported, easiest to maintain, etc. I was set on another Synology but it looks like QNAP may have better hardware and possibly support as well from what I read...thoughts? I plan on around 8 bays and about $1k budget. I will also keep irreplaceable personal photos and videos on this ( so a file system that prevents bit rot is a plus) as well as run something like a Backblaze backup from it. I usually use Kodi for Emby on Nvidia Shields in the house so I rarely, so far, use server side transcoding. That may negate my need for much hardware horsepower..who knows. Thanks!

You're going to get a ton of opinions on a topic like this, but w/ that budget I'd say roll your own and run Ubuntu w/ a ZFS filesystem mirrored drives w/ ECC RAM.  Then again, Im partial since thats what I'm running.

I think a dedicated server pc is better as pcs in general have better cpus for transcoding and you could put even core i7 last generation in it so do multiple transcoding for multiple clients in the same time and more upgradability and customization but that could at a cost of more electicity consumption and more size and may be more sound and heat

I think the two file systems that have self corrections are zfs found in freenas os (free) or refs file system found as storage spaces in windows pro and enterprise pcs of course you could use data redundancy so if one disk fails your data is intact and use error correction ram

I've got this version installed:

https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/51334-new-qnap-package-for-testing/

On a Qnap TS-451+ and it's very stable. I didn't test beyond three transcoded simultaneous streams and had no performance issues.

Not entirely on topic, while there are multiple opinions on the topic, as a new Qnap owner you can't beat the ease of setting up and running VMs or containers. Any modern NAS today is a very interesting package.
