neik 873 Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Hi guys, I was trying to set up Emby on a Samsung F-series TV but I ran into some problems setting it up. If I do not force https connection on the server-side then I can connect to it by entering the IP. Whenever I try to use the hostname it fails ("Server is not responding"). I tried to enter it in different ways: - zyx.net:8096 - http://zyx.net:8096 - https://zyx.net:8920 (using SSL) Forcing SSL on the server leads to being unable to connect to the server in any way. So my question: Is SSL already implemented in the Emby App for Samsung TV's? If so, what am I doing wrong? Have a nice New Years Eve and a Happy New Year to all of you!
FrostByte 5392 Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Which Emby app are you talking about? The official Store app, or the third party app? I don't believe cmcg ever implemented SSL in his app before leaving if you're referring to the unofficial app.
neik 873 Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 To be honest I didn't even know there were two type of apps for Samsung TV's but I think I am using the official one. I followed the instructions here for my TV (F-series): https://emby.media/emby-for-samsung-smart-tv.html
FrostByte 5392 Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Ok, ya if you didn't install the official app from the Samsung App Store then there is no SSL. Unfortunately that other app isn't actively in development anymore as the official app has started to roll out in a few places 1
neik 873 Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 Just had a quick look on the pinned topic of the official app and it seems to be available for the F-series. I will have a look at it in the next time and will come back to you in case of issues. Thanks for helping that fast! :-) 1
