concord 0 Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Is there a way to modify the way that TV recording files are named?
Luke 42077 Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Hi @@concord, how would you like them to be named instead?
xilex 9 Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I think something customizable like this would be convenient: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/changing-recorded-tv-default-file-name-in-windows/e723ca67-df47-4435-a489-fffcec1446c0?auth=1 1
concord 0 Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 Hi @@concord, how would you like them to be named instead? Hi Luke, For example: "Blue Bloods (2010) - S07E22 - The Thin Blue Line.mkv". If there is an option in Emby that I can use to configure this, great...it would make things easier for me . My other option is write a c\c++ program and rename them myself. Reason: I have two HDhomeRun tuners and they use a different antennas due to my bad location (in a valley) with multi-path issues. I have one going to Plex and the other to Emby. Some channels are more solid on one than the other, depending on atmospherics (and changing seasons). Also, if a software update causes issues, then hopefully the other records the show (i.e. Plex currently has an issue with recording multiple episodes in a row). After a week of recordings, I check the recordings for any issues on series I want to save without commercials and delete the bad ones. Then I run a script that checks to see if the episode (under recordings library) is already under tvshows library, if not then I use comskip and handbrake to remove the commercials and save it under tvshows.
