3D movies not recognized

As I had the same problem after switching to nfo files, the solution was found in this topic.

You have to put the information into the right place, for example:

...
  <fileinfo>
    <streamdetails>
      <video>
        <format3d>HTAB</format3d>
...

Then, it will be recognized on filescan (you can simply rescan single metadata to test this).

Thanks!

I did try to add exactly this manually but I still could not get Emby to recognize it as 3D. Was multitasking though so maybe I missed something, will try again.

Bingo, this worked perfectly, not sure why it didn't work the first time I tried, might have been a typo.

Anyhow will get this added to MCM so Emby will correctly identify 3D files with metadata generated by MCM in the future.

Hello,

I'm unsure if that was resolved. I have put my first 3D movie in MVC format, file are named xxx 3D.mvc.mkv. But they are detected as normal 2D movie. I did switch them in the metadata manager and lock them to prevent any automated job to revert it. But now, I see 2x the same movie (on in 3D and the 2D one). I would be great if instead of having all 3D movie in double, in the interface, there could be a dropdown list like for the subs and audio where we can choose between different type of movie (3D, extended, etc.).

Thank you!

If you imported them with pre-existing metadata then you need to make sure the value is also in the metadata.

Also, it seems the tag has now to be written in lower case with the latest release of emby.

At least for me, it wasn't recognized anymore when written as Format3D, but is was after changing to format3d.

Yes, I've noticed that as well. The Xml Reader though accepts it as "Format3D", go figure! :)

My guess is that someone forgot an "ignorecase" when doing a string comparison.

Serpi that hasn't changed. It has always been lowercase for nfo.

Hi All,

I currently have Radarr writing my .nfo files, and it doesn't seem to be adding the Format3d line into the nfo files.  I run both Plex and Emby, is there something I can turn on in one of those that WILL right the 3d format into the nfo?

Apologies, bit of a n00b, so could be quite an easy fix.

Hi, Any reason you're having the NFO written by Radarr vs letting Emby do it?
