ryandavidg 30 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 In general I've been really pleased with the performance improvements since I went through the "install manually over the top of your installation" to move to the net core version (for a Windows 7 machine). But I wondered why recent music albums I added to my library no longer received musicbrainz ids in their info after a library scan. Today, I noticed the reason for this: my libraries are now of the type "movies" and so have different metadata providers. Changing the "movies" setting in the screen below to "music", checking the right music data providers and then saving doesn't do anything, it just reverts to movies again. To be clear, this server has always been for music only and I have never had movie libraries, and before I did the manual reinstall it worked perfectly. I did not change this setting to movies. Is there a way I can fix this, or something you can do on your end, or do I have to rebuild it all from scratch? Really hoping to avoid starting all over again.
Luke 42089 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 hi @@ryandavidg, that screen does not indicate your libraries have changed to movies. all of the settings underneath that dropdown can be customized per media type, so you simply use the dropdown to change settings for a given type. Does this help?
ryandavidg 30 Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 Hi Thanks for the response, I see what you mean and feel like a bit of an idiot for jumping to conclusions! Looking further into it it seems my libraries are still set to music type so perhaps there is just a recent, temporary issue with Musicbrainz, not the end of the world. Thanks for your time.
