mbc0 68 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Hi, I am having a problem with Media Browser Server not detecting all my files.... Here is one of the path's not being detected \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2013\Round 03 Mexico Inside the folder are the following files Round 03 Mexico Day 01.mkv Round 03 Mexico Day 02.mkv Round 03 Mexico Day 03.mkv With this file structure only Round 03 Mexico Day 01.mkv is being detected & Day 2 & 3 are being ignored If I place the files in \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2013\ then all 3 Days are detected! Please can somebody throw me a bone as to what is going on :-D Many Thanks Guys...
mbc0 68 Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) I did wonder if it was something to do with the naming convention... Unfortunately ALL of my motorsport archives are named this way but I though setting the folder content to Home Video media browser would ignore naming conventions... can you please advise the easiest way around this issue? Also, I cannot see the files using the web client :-( Many Thanks Edited March 10, 2014 by mbc0
saitoh183 137 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) rename your files using Filebot Edited March 10, 2014 by saitoh183
mbc0 68 Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) Thank you for your reply, I would need to rename the files to make sure they stay in order... Some events that I archive have 5-6 days or stages, also holiday videos are ordered in day 1, 2 etc or something simular... Is there a media folder I can create for these situations or what renaming method could I use so that files would stay in order? The wiki doesn't list any naming conventions for the Home Video folder so I assumed it would be ignored.... Many Thanks Edited March 10, 2014 by mbc0
Luke 42078 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 those numbering schemes are following the multi-part video convention, so #2 and #3 are being detected as part 2 and part 3. if you go into the web client you can see all parts listed.
mbc0 68 Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Been trying so many different ways to do this :-( can anyone help please? Thanks
mbc0 68 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Any news on this yet fella's? I am unable to rename in a fashion that keeps the files in order & stop mb3 from grouping them as multipart This affects all my home videos (day1, day2 etc) Motorsport (WRC Day1, Day2 etc) Formula 1 - (Round1, Round2 etc) Is it possible to add a folder type that ignores all of this or a naming convention that will keep my files in order and not group the files? Many Thanks
Luke 42078 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 You could hack it and set it up as a trailer folder type or music videos. that will of course have side effects. but right now it is operating as expected. Another option is putting the videos in separate folders.

Luke 42078 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 for trailers the server will try to find internet metadata for them. for both trailers and music videos client apps may present those in movie/music sections.

Still detects them as multipart when using those folder types :-( 2014-03-21 01:37:53.8966 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\Grand Prix Masters\GP Masters 2005 Round 01 - South Africa.mkv 2014-03-21 01:37:53.9326 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\Formula 1\Testing\2014\3rd Test At Bahrain\Formula1.2014.Bahrain.Test2.Day1.Teds.Notebook.SkySportsF1HD.720P.X264.English-mbc0.mp4 2014-03-21 01:37:53.9326 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\Formula 1\Testing\2014\2nd Test At Bahrain\Formula1.2014.Bahrain.Day1.Testing.Highlights.SkySportsF1HD.720P.X264.English-mbc0.mp4 2014-03-21 01:37:53.9326 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\Formula 1\Testing\2014\1st Test At Jerez\Formula1.2014.Jerez.Day1.Testing.Highlights.SkySportsF1HD.720P.X264.English-mbc0.mp4 2014-03-21 01:37:54.1006 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2011\Round 08 - Finland\WRC Finland 2011 - Day 1&2.avi 2014-03-21 01:37:54.1006 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2012\Round 01 - Monte Carlo\WRC 2012 Monte Carlo Round 1 Day 1.mp4 2014-03-21 01:37:54.1186 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2012\Round 08 - Finland\WRC.2012.Round08.Finland.Day1 & 2.MotorsTV.X264.English.-Z.Mp4 2014-03-21 01:37:54.1186 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2012\Round 11 - France\WRC 2012 RD11 (France) Day 1 Motors TV x264-English.mp4 2014-03-21 01:37:54.1186 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2012\Round 09 - Germany\WRC_2012_RD9_(Germany)_Day_1_Motors_TV_x264-English.mp4 2014-03-21 01:37:54.1186 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2012\Round 12 - Italy\WRC.2012.Round.12.Italy.Day.1&2.MotorsTV.mp4 2014-03-21 01:37:54.1186 Info - App: Multi-part video found: \\HPSERVER\Video Pool - Sport\Motorsport\WRC\2012\Round 13 - Spain\WRC.2012.Round.13.Spain.Day.1.Motors.TV.mp4
mbc0 68 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Will there not ever be a fix for this situation? (I mean is it on any kind of todo list?) I am stuck both ways, I cannot find a way to name the files so mbs will not detect them as multi-part and I cannot have a folder type that will ignore naming conventions :-(
Luke 42078 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 make sure you're on the latest server because it should not be doing that.

Luke 42078 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Well that's not the latest but it should be close enough. Can you post a screenshot of your media library setup? just want to make sure the right folder type was chosen. thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Also, one trick you might be able to try it take the number off of the first part. So instead of Video 1.mkv, just call it Video.mkv. if any single video doesn't follow the multi-file pattern, they will all be treated as separate.

The problem I have with that is how do I label multi-day events to be watched and displayed in order? i.e. WRC Mexico Day1, 2, 3 ----- Australia Holiday, Day 1, 2 etc ---- formula 1, round 1, 2 ,3 etc?
Luke 42078 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I am not sure but your best bet is to make sure they're not colliding with the multi-part convention. Maybe you could try a suffix after the number, like Day 1_.mkv.

bluemonkey07 590 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 How bout using Roman numerals I V X for numbering the files and entering the actual number in the sort title field to keep them in order?
