Xorp 48 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) I'm not sure what server version it went missing, I'm running 3.2.60.0 currently, but when I view Media Info for any content, the title of every track has defaulted back to the basic codec information, instead of the custom title set when muxing. For example, files that have "1080p AVC 15 mbit 10-bit" and "Commentary with Director and Cast" as their video and audio track titles, now say "1080P H264" or "Eng Dolby Digital stereo". Some movies I have multiple commentary tracks, and with custom track title information I used to be able to tell which one was which, but now they all say "Eng Dolby Digital stereo". Refreshing metadata does not return the custom title info. The information appears to be missing from every file Emby manages now, not just recent additions, including things that haven't had their metadata updated in a long while. Checking the .nfo, the custom title information does not appear to be in there either. I remember this is how all Media Info used to be displayed, but about a year ago there was an update to extract the custom title information with a metadata refresh. Edited December 28, 2017 by Xorp
Luke 42083 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Sorry, we already responded to the same question elsewhere so perhaps we missed this one. did you search the community for similar topics? We stated elsewhere that this will return via an option. Thanks.
Xorp 48 Posted January 11, 2018 Author Posted January 11, 2018 Yes, I searched before posting but didn't see my exact use case. Was there a reason this function was removed? Performance issues? Some movies have many commentaries (Se7en has 3 for example) so without track titles, so I have no idea which DD2.0 Eng track is which commentary. When the function returns via an option, will I have to refresh my entire library for Emby to scrape the track names?
Luke 42083 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Because if you're not someone who manually curates your embedded track titles then this can cause the display to be a little unpredictable. No it won't require scanning.
Xorp 48 Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 Ok, that makes sense. I can see wanting to present consistent track names to users. Not everyone is OCD like me about their track titles Thanks for bringing it back as an option!
Xorp 48 Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 Still in the works? Just an example to help clarify that it is difficult to find the track you want without it: MPC: Emby apps:
