Emby for Kodi Sync speed

Hello,

 

Is It possible to make the sync faster ? I have around 500 users using my emby server with Kodi and the manual sync is very slow. (I have around 30'000 movies).

No but is It possible to use path substitution with Embycon?

 

Because I only use strm files and I give access to the file through FTP server and not SMB

Yes it is. 

 

For your setup i would not recommend the sync plugin. 500 users all syncing individually is too many, because the sync process does require a few extra resources, and it happens individually for each Emby for Kodi installation. Most likely your issue is not the speed of the sync process, but rather too many devices syncing at once.

I didn't find the native path like Emby for Kodi. and File Direct Path use SMB so I can't do what I want.

 

Do you have any idea how to setup it like Native path?

I don't know I'm trying on my test server and It always start with direct play. How can I force native path?

I tried to play strm file in direct play mode and I remember than last year when I did that with emby for kodi It was the server downloading the movie and streaming to the kodi but now It's not like that with embycon?

I think I find a way to my problem, I was using HTTPS without certificate so today I added a let's encrypt certificate and now my clients load fluenty the library.

 

Do you think using a ssl certificate helps the server? I have less memory usage now and the server UI is faster than before.

It will have no effect on performance.
