Intros plugin with external player selected

Should mb intros work with external player or does it only work with internal player? When I press play the external player (TMT 6) stars straight away and I get no intros . If this is the case is it possible to get intros to play first before an external player starts??

Also getting video tearing using MBT internal player - any advice?

it only works with external players that support multi-file playback, which tmt does not.

What is the best external player available that will allow me to have MB intros play and have audio bitstreaming with LAV?
